Annabel Krupp

Annabel received her Ph.D in June 2014 and has taken a position at Biogen Idec.

Annabel grew up in southern Germany near Lake Constance. She obtained her Bachelor’s (’08, looking at plant-fungus interactions) and Master’s (’10, creating hypoallergenic tomatoes) degree in molecular and cell biology at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. She then decided to join their virology PhD program, which has an exchange program with Harvard in order to allow students to pursue their practical work in a research lab at Harvard. She started out in Welkin’s lab in the fall of 2010 and then followed him to Boston College in 2011.
Annabel is currently working to provide evidence that APOBEC3G can serve as a selective barrier to cross-species trafficking of lentiviruses.
